Digital transfers are cost effective/good for short runs (1-12) of any spot color ink on light or pastel cloth or longer runs of near photo quality images on light or pastel cloth up to 144 or so items.

 

There are a few drawbacks to using digital transfers.

1. they can only be used on light colored cloth.  The toner or ink used is translucent and the color of the fabric will alter the color of the print.

2. there may be a slight darkening of unprinted fabric around the image due to the coating on the transfer paper.

3. the image area will feel “stiff” until it is washed a couple times.

 

That said, we’ve done hundreds of tees at event using this process without any complaints from customers.
